Climbing gyms have the opportunity to increase access for people with disabilities, regardless of their size, climbing discipline, or previous experience with adaptive climbing.

This half-day workshop equips climbing gym owners, managers, route setters, program directors, and other industry leaders with practical tools for creating accessible climbing experiences through intentional routesetting, operations, partnerships, and culture.

Drawing on 15 years of experience building adaptive climbing communities and leading outdoor recreation programs, Kareemah Batts shares practical strategies that can be applied in bouldering gyms, rope gyms, university climbing walls, and community facilities alike.

Participants will leave with practical tools and a framework they can immediately apply to build or advance adaptive climbing within their own gym.
